You’re out of the hospital

But its effects are still inside you

You didn’t expect it to happen the way it did …

  • Your heart being torn in two as you had to leave your baby with strangers instead of taking them home

  • The stress of navigating time between being with your baby at the hospital and trying to recover from childbirth while also dealing with outside responsibilities of appointments, home, and everyday life.

  • Private moments in public places under the lights of hospital pod glare and beeping monitors.

  • Trying to pump every two hours while also remembering to eat lunch yourself

  • Joy, hurt, grief, and complications that “shouldn’t” have co-existed but did

Does this sound familiar?

You’re emotionally and mentally exhausted from carrying everything you’ve been through.

You’re wanting to embrace joy but feeling anxious after all you’ve survived.

You wish you could share and process through the roller coaster of the ups and downs with someone who understands what it’s like.

You want to be a “good mom,” but the stress from everything makes relaxing into the role difficult.

Here’s what we’ll do together

A Therapeutic Intensive is supportive, healing counseling without the weekly commitment (who has time for that after having a baby?!?)

You will…

  • Get to tell your birth story and make sense of the meaning it has for you

  • Identify and process through the challenging parts of the medical experiences that still cause disturbance within you so that you can finally get relief and breathe easier again

  • Find helpful tools and your footing so that you can successfully navigate your life and all it entails moving forward

  • Experience powerful evidence-based EMDR therapy so you can leave the trauma behind and get on with living. (Rather than doing one hour a week therapy for months, you will get 4 to 12 hours of therapy in one to three days, depending on your schedule, so you can get over the medical trauma and the NICU and experience more peace, purpose, and confidence).

At the end of the day, I want you to know:

You can hold joyful emotions at the same time as difficult ones.

They often co-exist, and that doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. It simply means that you’re human and have been through a lot.

WHY Work with Michelle Croyle, LPC?

I’m a former NICU mom and a professional counselor.

  • You won’t have to explain things like pulse ox, bradys, apneas, monitors, and the challenges of pumping every two hours

  • You will be seen as the warrior momma you are and have your battle scars honored and healed rather than dismissed, glossed over, or minimized.

  • You will be met with genuine care and understanding about the complexities of experiences only NICU parents truly understand.

  • You will be treated by someone who has advanced training in not just talk therapy but deep trauma specialization work so that you can go deep in processing as needed and actually heal the wounding/painful experiences in your nervous system rather than just getting told to think differently.

Change is possible.
