About Michelle Croyle, LPC

You don’t have to carry this all on your own.

I’m a Pittsburgh-based therapist who specializes in treating high-achieving, driven Christian women struggling with trauma, anxiety, and the effects of having been in abusive relationships.

please Hear me when I say:

Being here doesn’t mean you’re weak or “crazy.” It means you’re strong and ready to get healthier for yourself and those you love.

In fact, you’ve likely been strong for so long, shouldering the burdens that really belong to others, and finally realized that you deserve care.

It’s not easy to be the one who keeps it all together for everyone else while also trying to get support for your needs, too. This is your place to rest and be seen without having to “perform,” and without having to censor yourself or be responsible for the needs and feelings of others. It’s your spaced to breathe.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief each client is unique and the expert on their lived experience.

Whatever your reason for seeking therapy at this point in time, you are the one with the lived experience of being you. This means that I want to understand the strategies you have used to survive, and I want to learn about and encourage your unique strengths to help you to heal and thrive. I take my cues from you and bring in my clinical expertise to support you with various options.

First, I hear your story and learn about the goal(s) you would like to work on. Then, we work on uncovering your strengths, your roadblocks, and in developing a solid base from which to do our deep work with self-regulation and grounding tools. From there, we choose an approach that will meet your needs and support you as we help you reach your therapeutic goals.

Therapy with me is…

  • I want to hear from you at each step of the process of working together. My approach is to customize your therapy to your preferences, needs, and goals.

  • You won’t just get a “blank-slate” therapist when you work with me. We work together toward your goals so you get real results rather than just a surface-level therapist who merely nods their head while you talk.

  • You cannot do therapy wrong. I follow your lead so that you can get the deep healing you came for without being pushed past where you feel you are ready to go. I ask for permission and make suggestions, but you are in the drivers’ seat.

  • When desired by the client and to the limit or extent of the client’s desire. You are welcome here no matter if your relationship status with God is feeling solid or more in the category of “it’s complicated.”
